Spy Coins

During the Cold War, spies from both the east and west used hollow coins to ferry secret messages, suicide poisons, and microfilms undetected. These coins are the modern counterparts. With the ablilty to contain a computer or camera memory card, you could pack a lot of data into a nickel. Custom manufactured, these coins cost about $30.00. link

This 5/8" diameter steel bolt has been hollowed out, and has a threaded, removable head. During the Cold War, devices like these were used to transfer messages and microfilms between two individuals without the need for them to meet. A bolt would be removed from a bridge or an automobile, for example, and replaced with the hollow bolt.
